A sail in the wind
The design came out of combining a sail in the wind, with the iconic form of a simple café chair
We wanted to combine something familiar with something innovative. It became the well known café arm chair with the tube running around the back and down into the front legs. On top of that we placed a sail that should sit like it was blown onto the frame by the wind. It went through many phases cutting it more and more down to the simple expression. Good things emerge, when you cannot move any more away. Since then the chair has got many versions, tables and other items in the family and despite that the chair carries the basic content of the collection. Like the OCEAN, it contains it all.
